27 Amazon Travel Essentials Frequent Travelers Swear By

OK, so you’re headed on a trip, right?

Whether you’re heading on a weekend getaway or a long international trip, the right travel gear you bring along can make a huge difference in how comfortable you are, your stress levels, and your overall enjoyment of your trip!

After years of traveling, these are the Amazon travel essentials that frequent travelers swear by (myself included!) from space-saving packing cubes to genius laundry sheets that make washing clothes on the road incredibly easy.

These travel essentials will have you wishing you bought them sooner 🙂

Also, hi there! My name is Sydney and welcome to my blog, The Après Society! I cover a variety of travel and skiing related topics, as these are my passions in life, and I am so excited and fulfilled to be writing about them. I hope this blog makes your life just a little bit better either with travel hacks, outfit inspiration, or just pure entertainment.

Packing Essentials

1. Vacuum Compression Packing Cubes

Vacuum packing cubes are one of the easiest ways to fit more clothes into your suitcase without checking a bag. These cubes compress bulky clothing like sweaters, jeans, and jackets, saving that oh so valuable space in your luggage.

I know me as a chronic over-packer LOVES these so I can bring more without using more space.

They’re especially helpful for:

  • winter travel
  • long international trips
  • carry-on only packing

2. Packing Cube Set

Regular packing cubes keep your suitcase organized and make unpacking incredibly easy. So, instead of digging through your luggage, you can simply pull out a cube for shirts, pants, or workout clothes.

Frequent travelers often pack:

  • one cube for tops
  • one cube for bottoms
  • one cube for underwear and pajamas

Pro Tip: I also like to save a packing cube for dirty clothes as I collect them throughout a trip

3. Portable Luggage Scale

Again, as a chronic over-packer, I am using every OUNCE I have before hitting that 50lb mark on a long trip (or heck, even a long weekend girls trip, let’s be honest).

Avoid overweight baggage fees by weighing your suitcase before heading to the airport. A small luggage scale clips onto your bag handle and instantly tells you if you’re over the airline weight limit.

4. Carry-On Luggage (Hard-Shell Spinner)

A high-quality carry-on suitcase is one of the most important travel purchases you’ll make. A durable hard-shell spinner with 360° wheels makes airport navigation so much easier.

Look for features like:

  • expandable storage
  • built-in TSA lock
  • smooth spinner wheels
  • lightweight design

Well-known options travelers often search for:

Luggage is great because:

  • It’s a higher price point
  • People actively research before buying
  • It pairs naturally with packing cube content

Laundry & Clothing Travel Essentials

5. Travel Laundry Sheets

This may be my best travel “hack” for packing for longer trips and you have access to laundry. Laundry. Detergent. Sheets.

Instead of packing bulky detergent bottles, you simply bring a few paper-thin sheets.

These dissolve in water and work perfectly for:

  • washing clothes in a hotel sink
  • doing laundry in Airbnb machines
  • long trips where you need to rewear outfits

They’re lightweight, leak-proof, and TSA-friendly!

6. Wrinkle Release Spray

Instead of packing a bulky steamer, a small wrinkle-release spray quickly smooths out clothes after they’ve been packed (or shoved lol) in a suitcase.

7. Travel Clothesline

A portable clothesline is perfect for if you have a little extra space and know you will be doing laundry while you are traveling. A travel clothes lines helps with organizing drying clothes in hotel rooms or Airbnbs after washing them.

International Amazon Travel Essentials

8. Universal Travel Adapter

If you’re traveling internationally, a universal adapter is a MUST. One adapter works in dozens of different countries and lets you plug in your devices anywhere in the world.

Look for adapters that include:

  • surge protection
  • multiple USB ports
  • USB-C charging

9. Portable Charger

Long flights and travel days can drain your phone battery quickly. A portable charger ensures you always have power for maps, boarding passes, and photos.

This set of two portable chargers is my favorite to use because of how compact they are.

10. Apple AirTags for Luggage

Many travelers now hide an AirTag in their luggage so they can track their bag in real time through their phone.

And I have a real story that happened to me, and why I will ALWAYS have an AirTag in my luggage:

I was connecting on a flight in a foreign country, tracked my AirTag, realized it was not on the plane. When I landed, I went to guest services to report it, and turns out, my bag wasn’t even checked to my final destination! Without the AirTag, my bag may have been lost into oblivion.

They’re incredibly helpful for:

  • lost luggage
  • airport delays
  • connecting flights

Airport & Flight Essentials

11. Neck Pillow

A supportive neck pillow makes overnight flights much more comfortable and helps prevent neck pain. I like an inflatable neck pillow to save space.

12. Compression Socks

Compression socks improve circulation during long flights and help reduce swelling in your legs and feet.

They’re especially helpful on flights longer than 6 hours.

13. Travel Blanket

A lightweight travel blanket keeps you comfortable on cold airplanes and can easily fold into a compact pouch.

14. Noise-Canceling Headphones

If you fly even a few times a year, noise-canceling headphones are one of the best travel investments you can make. They block out crying babies, engine noise, and airport chaos, making long flights dramatically more comfortable.

They’re especially worth it for:

  • overnight flights
  • long-haul international trips
  • working remotely while traveling

I love the AirPod Max, but if you’re looking for a less bulky version, the normal AirPods are also great.

15. AirFly Bluetooth Adapter

Not all planes that have screens on the back of seats have bluetooth to connect to personal headphones yet. And we all know the cheap headphones they pass out are not great. An AirFly Bluetooth Adapter lets you connect your own headphones to the screen.

Toiletry & Organization Essentials

16. Hanging Toiletry Bag

A hanging toiletry bag keeps everything organized and lets you hang it directly in a hotel bathroom. I have this toiletry bag and am SHOCKED how much it fits!

Many travelers prefer these because they:

  • make packing easier
  • keep counters uncluttered
  • hold full-size products

17. Leak-Proof Travel Bottles

Reusable travel bottles allow you to bring your favorite shampoo, conditioner, and skincare products without carrying full-size bottles.

18. Jewelry Travel Organizer

A compact jewelry organizer keeps necklaces from tangling and protects delicate pieces during travel.

19. Dual Voltage Hair Tools

If you’re traveling internationally where the voltage is different, I highly recommend a dual voltage travel size hair tool! For example, in Europe, a Dyson or Shark hair tool won’t work, even with a converter.

Safety & Smart Travel Essentials

20. Portable Door Lock

A portable door lock adds an extra layer of security to hotel rooms or Airbnbs.

It’s especially popular with:

  • solo travelers
  • women traveling alone
  • people staying in short-term rentals

21. RFID Blocking Passport Holder

These passport holders protect your cards and passport from RFID scanning and keep travel documents organized in one place.

22. Travel-Sized First Aid Kit

Small, lightweight, and surprisingly useful, a travel first aid kit is an item you’ll never know when you will need it. Just pack it!

Especially good for:

  • international trips
  • hiking days
  • beach vacations

Small Travel Items That Make a Big Difference

23. Reusable Water Bottle

A collapsible or lightweight reusable water bottle saves money at airports and keeps you hydrated during long travel days.

24. Eye Mask for Flights

A quality sleep mask blocks out cabin lights and helps you sleep better on overnight flights. I prefer a weighted eye mask. Not sure what it is about it, but it helps me fall asleep!

25. Travel Pill Organizer

A compact pill organizer keeps medications, vitamins, and supplements organized during trips.

26. TSA-Approved Toiletry Bag (Clear Quart Size)

A high-quality, reusable clear toiletry bag makes airport security smoother and avoids leaks all over your suitcase.

It pairs perfectly with:

  • leak-proof travel bottles
  • skincare minis
  • carry-on-only packing guides

Bonus: Tech Essentials

27. Portable Travel Monitor

A portable laptop monitor is an amazing upgrade if you ever work while traveling. It connects to your laptop and gives you a second screen anywhere, whether you’re in a hotel, airport lounge, or Airbnb.

It’s especially helpful for:

  • remote workers
  • digital nomads
  • business travelers
  • content creators editing photos or video on the road

These monitors are typically lightweight and slide right into a laptop sleeve in your carry-on.

I have this one and it does the job for a portable monitor.
